About Us
First established in 1991 as the Higher Education ESF Services Limited (HEESF), the Company supported UK HEIs to access resources from the European Social Fund (an EU funded programme that aims to reduce differences in prosperity and living standards across EU Member States and regions whilst promoting economic and social cohesion).
Re-launched in 2009 as HEEFS, the Company now supports HEIs to access funding from a broader range of programmes. For more information, please see the EU Programmes section of our website.
Our mission is to increase the participation of UK HEIs in EU Programmes, thereby:
- Increasing external funding
- Progressing the contribution of UK HEIs to the Lisbon Agenda and the Bologna Process
- Supporting the drive for internationalisation
Our Board is currently chaired by Professor Van Gore and Vice-Chancellor of Southampton Solent University. Other Board members include:
